92 at the close of play

A well played inning
The lights faded and the game is called
The crowds gather around, to celebrate.
A well played knock.

Many overs. A few close calls,
but the ‘umpire’ always saw in your favor,
To the dismay of the wicket keeper and his cohorts
You along with the Almighty were the co-captains of our team.

Five strokes played, produced twenty four runs,
and twelve extras.
Captain with a five member team.
Inspiration for many.

When bad weather threatened you were our shelter, grounds keeper.
Keeping us safe, guarding and guiding.
Solid pitch you laid. As you showed us how to protect our stumps, stand our ground.
Not to make un-necessary plays, just the right ones. Meaningful ones.

So to our Captain, teacher, motivator, shelter.
Faithful servant to Him.
Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother & friend.
We Love, Thank and Miss You

Rest in peace MOM. God was ready for his angel to come home.
We will all meet again one day.

Una Chase.
