The MAN

The day is here!
The day The Man takes over.
Barack Obama
Becomes the 44th American president.

There's so much hype around this inauguration.
The first African American to hold the highest office in the land.
Millions flock to the grounds to get a glimpse, be a part of this historic moment.

I understand the significance of it all.
For years 'the black man' has endured slavery, racial injustice & discrimination.

But that was then, granted in some places it continues, this is now.
I believe it's more of a mental slavery that consumes some of todays 'black americans'.

Not being born into such or growing up in the culture of being second class citizen, I'm not subjected to that mentality.

So on this day I'm happy that a black man holds the key to the future for so many, but today is just the beginning.

He has four years to prove himself. Granted the circumstances under which he takes over are not the best, he has a tremendous uphill battle.
I know for there has been a lot placed in his ability to deliver on his promises. I hope that people, all people that have so much hope and faith in this one man, this black man are not disappointed.

So to you Mr President Obama, I wish you all the best.
To the world waiting in baited breath let us let the journey begin.
